I haven’t painted using watercolors in years. The lack of practice showed; I was frustrated at how long it took me to remember basic techniques and I seem to have lost half my tools. But I’m glad I finished, even though I’m having to work hard to not lambast it and this may be one of the least interesting works I’ve ever done. It’s a reminder that if you don’t keep doing something and then pick it up after a long time, it will take patience and kindness towards yourself to get back on track. This one’s called “Reflections”, and with it I tried to capture how I’ve felt about this year. It was a roller coaster.
